This antique c. 1890 Victorian-era quilt features a striking silk and velvet design, known as the “Pineapple Quilt.” It consists of 56 hand-pieced blocks, each measuring 8 x 8 inches, arranged in a 7 by 8 layout, and framed by a 3.5-inch crazy patchwork border. The quilt is hand-embroidered and lacks batting or quilting, with the edges finished with a rich black velvet binding. The back showcases the foundation blocks used in piecing the quilt together. Due to its age, the quilt is in poor condition, with many fabrics showing signs of shattering—a common issue for quilts of this vintage. A hanging sleeve is attached for display purposes.
